It’s Championship Thursday for three Tri-State area high school football teams playing for state titles today in Iowa and Wisconsin
Tonight at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, the Western Dubuque Bobcats are seeking their 3rd state title in school history when the meet Council Bluffs Lewis Central at 7 o’clock for the 4-A crown. W-D is (11-and-1) while Lewis Central is (10-2). Bobcat head coach Justin Penner says his teams GRIT is what has gotten them in position for another state title.

The Bobcats previously won championships in 2001 and 2019 and finished runners-up in 2018. Lewis Central is making their 3rd straight title game appearance winning it all in 2021. Kickoff will be at 7 o’clock
At Camp Randall Stadium in Madison:
- At 10 o’clock this morning Six Rivers Conference member Black-Hawk-Warren (10-1) will meet (12-1) Edgar for the Division 7 title. For Black Hawk-Warren they are playing for the first title as a combined program, Black Hawk has won 3 other state titles with the latest in 2019. Edgar has won 7 state titles.
- At 1 o’clock: SWAL Champ Darlington will be looking to add a 5th state title in. The Redbirds (12-1) meet defending state champ (12-1) Stratford for the Division 6 championship. Darlington’s last title was 1995. Stratford has won a title 8 times.
