Dubuque Makes Plans To Apply For PRICE Grant For Some Mobile Home Communities

CITY OF DUBUQUE

The city of Dubuque wants to take over the management of two mobile home communities. The city is planning to apply for a federal grant that would create what’s called a community land trust.

Dubuque Housing and Community Development Director Alexis Steger told our coverage partner KCRG, the goal is to purchase both the Table Mound and Terrace Heights mobile home communities and turn them into resident-owned community land trusts.

Applying for the federal PRICE Grant would come in many steps. Stegar says the first step is making sure the residents’ voices are heard through the application.

Steger says it would not only preserve all the housing that is available in those neighborhoods, but it will also increase value in other areas.
