5/24-Bacon Feta Cheeseburgers

Timing is everything they say, and, boy were they right today! I was planning on grilling out some burger’s for a Memorial Day burger idea for your cookouts this weekend, but, Mother Nature had other plans….thank you very much! “Bacon Feta Cheeseburgers” is what I made today for “Cookin’ with Kaye”, my weekly cooking show heard Friday’s at 8:20am on AM1370 KDTH. With lightning bolts flying, winds a howling, rain a pourin’ down, possible tornadoes and flying debri outside the garage here at Radio Dubuque, I thought best to change plans and BAKE my Bacon Feta Cheeseburger in the oven! 380-degrees, 20 minutes, flip, and cook another 10 minutes. I did put down some foil and parchment paper on the baking sheet first, then added the burgers. Came out perfectly cooked and juicy! I haven’t made these burgers in years. Last time I did, I took them to a cookout and my buddy said, Michael, these are the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. And, I’ll have to say, he’s spot on! These burgers are delicious! I used 3lbs. of Cremer’s Grocery famous lean ground beef. Jeff Cremer also suggested I try a new product he’s carrying at the store, “Bacon Pepper Dip”. It’s fantastic!! I smeared some on the top bun of each burger and everyone loved it!! I then added romaine lettuce, sliced red onions and fresh sliced tomatoes. Man oh man, was this awesome! Wait til you smell and taste that bacon-pepper dip!! These Feta burgers will go over big time with your guests this Memorial Day weekend! Don’t forget to head to Cremer’s Grocery on Rhomberg, open Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm, Saturday’s 9am-3pm. And, head to Van’s Liquor Store in East Dubuque and stock up on your weekend beverage needs. Check out the Dubuque The Dubuque Advertiser for all of Van’s weekly specials and Cremer’s weekly specials! Thank you to our Veterans, our active military personell, police, sheriff’s, fire, and EMS personell, and of course, those who gave all for their country. Have a happy and Safe Memorial Day weekend.
