Dubuque School

Dubuque Community School Superintendent Amy Hawkins has received a new contract.  Last night the school board approved a new three-year rolling contract for Hawkins that will see her receive a 1.6% salary increase in the upcoming school year.

With the increase Hawkins salary will be $235,470 and she will receive an additional $17,500 in a retirement account.  The contract calls for her to be paid “no less than” that amount for the following two years of her contract.  The school board compared the salaries of other superintendent’s in Iowa’s largest school districts when figuring the new contract.

The board also approved agreements with custodial and maintenance employees for the upcoming school year, as well as the salary and benefits package for non-bargaining employees. Each group will receive salary and benefits increases of 2.51% to 2.54%.
