The National Weather Service says Monday’s storm spun up a confirmed tornado in the Kieler, area. Officials say the tornado lasted for about one minute from 6:14 to 6:15 and is being rated an EF-1 tornado with an estimated wind speed of 90 miles per hour.
In Dubuque County, Conservation Director Brian Preston says hundreds of trees were downed across the department’s 21 parks due to high winds from Monday evenings derecho. He says much work is being done to clean up parks and trails in the wake of the storm.
