The Dubuque Community School Board gave their approval to using nearly $15 million in sales tax revenue bonds to fund upcoming renovation projects at two elementary schools.
This week the school board voted to approve the action following a public hearing. The funds will be used for a gymnasium addition at Eisenhower Elementary and to install air conditioning inside the full Irving Elementary building.
The bonds will be repaid with money generated from the district’s one cent sales tax money.
Construction on both projects is slated for the spring or summer of 2025, and work should mostly completed by August 2026.
