Trials Set For Two Men Charged In Downtown Stabbing

DUBUQUE COURTHOUSE

The trial date for two men charged with attempted murder for a stabbing in late October in downtown Dubuque has been set.

22-year old Gabriel Dominguez of Sherrill has pled not guilty to a charge of attempted murder and will go to trial March 4th in Dubuque County District Court.

Dominguez allegedly stabbed 21-year old Hunter Guyon of Dubuque near the intersections of 9th and Main Streets during the early morning hours of October 26th.

The other man charged in the case, 22 year old Scott Wessels of Dubuque also has pled not guilty to an attempted murder charge and will also be tried March 4th.

Wessels was driving the vehicle in which Dominquez was riding in and according to Iowa Law can be charged even if he was not the person who carried out the crime.

Police say Dominguez got out of a vehicle and stabbed Guyon who was walking with a group of other people along Main Street. Guyon sustained serious stab wounds to his abdomen area in the attack.
