(KCRG) – A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a Dubuque County crash Thursday morning. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office and Epworth Fire and EMS were called to a crash on Gun Club Road, approximately half a mile north of Epworth at around 7:10am. Upon investigation, it was revealed that a 16-year-old boy from Sherrill was driving southbound on Gun Club Road when he crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting the trailer of a vehicle being towed. The person hit by the 16-year-old was not injured. However, the 16-year-old boy sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, his injuries are non-life threatening. The boy was cited for failure to maintain control.
