Law enforcement are still on the U-W Platteville campus after what was described as an emergency threat this afternoon. Authorities say there is no longer an active threat, but were continuing to ask people to avoid Wilgus Hall on campus. The incident started sometime between 4 and 4:30 this afternoon and UW Platteville students were ordered to shelter in place.
The specifics of what authorities responded to has not been released. U-W Platteville officials say it was an isolated incident and police are investigating and would hold a press briefing this evening with more details. Officials also say they are working to support students who are affected by the incident.
It’s been reported final exams at UW-Platteville have been cancelled for the next two days in response to the incident.
