Iowa High School State Track Meet: W-D’s Nauman Makes US History On Championship Saturday
On championship Saturday the final day of the Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Western Dubuque junior Quentin Nauman made US history with his performances.
In defending state titles in the 800 and 1600, he became the first ever high schooler in America to ever run a sub 1:50 in the 800 and a sub 4:00 in the 1600 in the same meet. Naman ran 1:49.41 in the 800 before wowing the crowd at Drake Stadium with the sub-4-minute mile in a time of 3:59.60. He now has 8 career high school gold medals.
The other state championship came from the Wahlert High School girls 4×400 relay team (Brosius, Roling, Sieverding, and Donovan) won in a time of 3:53.33.

- Bellevue freshman Leah Lambe placed 3rd in the 100 meters

The third-seeded University of Iowa baseball team fell to No. 2 seed UCLA, 9-3, in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
Aaron Savary started on the hill and received the loss. Over 3.1 innings of work, Savary allowed seven runs on nine hits and struck out one.
Iowa saw record fall to 33-22-and-1.
