An Asbury man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for distribution of child pornography.
34-year-old Christopher Smith was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty to the charges in January.
Smith confessed to using a messaging service to get into contact with others and trade child pornography. In October 2022, Smith sent three videos of child pornography to an undercover police officer.
Smith must also serve eight years of supervised release after his prison term is over.
