The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says a Platteville woman died in a one vehicle accident over the weekend.
Authorities say the crash happened Saturday evening just before 8 on Baker Ford Road near Platteville. Deputies were alerted to the accident by a crash detection notification from a smart phone.
They say a jeep driven by 75-year old Linda Bottomley crossed the center line and crashed into a ditch. Bottomley was rushed by ambulance to Southwest Health where she died of her injuries.
This was Grant County’s fifth motor vehicle fatality this year.
