Hernandez Announces Run For City Council

A third candidate for the Dubuque City Council Ward One race has filed papers to be on the ballot.

74-year old Carmen Hernandez has become the third person to announce a run for the open seat. Hernandez is the president of the local chapter of League of Women Voters.

The other declared candidates so far are DeLano Cain-Watson and Tyson Leyendecker. Current Ward One council member Susan Farber has announced she will not seek a second term.

With 3 candidates, a primary election will be held on October 7th to get the field down to two for the general election November 4th.
