Bikers and hikers will have a paved section of the Heritage Trail to use by late next year.
This week the Dubuque County Conservation Board accepted a bid to pave a two mile section of the trail from the Dyersville Trail Head to Prier Road, and potentially extending to Holy Cross Road. Construction is expected to begin next August and be finished sometime in November 2026.
A $500-thousand dollar federal grant is helping fund the project.
