The September dry spell ended in a big way for many in some of the area last night including Dubuque.
The rain came down hard and fast for some in the city with the storm dumping between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain in under one hour creating some street flooding. There was also up to penny size hail reported.
Not everyone received nearly as much rain with the Dubuque Regional Airport only recording just .57 inches.
Up until yesterday, the airport only had .19 inches of precipitation for the month.
