Voters in the Dubuque School District will soon have chance to learn more about the upcoming 70-million dollar bond referendum on the ballot in November.
The Dubuque Community School District will be hosting two community information meetings next month. The first session will be this coming Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 at Jefferson Middle School. Tours of Jefferson will be available between 5:30 and 6:30.
The second session will be on Tuesday, October 21st from 6 until 7 at Washington Middle School. Tours of the school will be offered between 5 and 6.
If the bond referendum is approved, a new middle school would be built combining Washington and Jefferson into one building.
School officials say the move would save the district up to 2.5 million dollars in annual operating expenses moving the district from three down to two middle schools.
