It’s City/School Election Day

City and school elections are taking place across the state of Iowa today.

In Dubuque there is a race for Mayor and three city council seats on the ballot

Dubuque Community School District voters are deciding on a school bond referendum and electing three members to the school board.

Voters will decide on a 70-million dollars bond referendum which would help fund the construction of a new middle school building to combine Washington and Jefferson Middle Schools.

There are four candidates for the three open seats on the school board with incumbents Nancy Bradley and Anderson Sainchi along with Mae Hintgen and Delano Cain-Watson.

There are a few other contested city election races in Dubuque County

There is also a contested school board election in the Western Dubuque School District. The District 1 board set has two candidates with Karen Ertl and Chad Ostwinkle.
