HIGH SCHOOL
The 2nd day of the Iowa High School Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet is taking place today University of Iowa.
Dubuque swimmers advanced to three ‘A’ finals and four ‘B’ finals after prelim rounds yesterday.
- Senior’s Annie Gilligan qualified fourth for the 200-yard freestyle final and seventh for the 100 backstroke final.
- Wahlert’s Molly Snyder made the ‘A’ final in the 100 butterfly with the seventh seed. Snyder made the ‘B’ final in the 200 individual medley.
- Wahlert’s Julia Roth made the ‘B’ final in the 100 backstroke
- Hempstead swimmers made a pair of ‘B’ finals. Lilly McFadden in the 200 freestyle, and Maisey Duehr in the 100 breaststroke.
In addition to those finals for individual swims, all three city schools have qualified in the three relays event finals.

- #18 Dubuque 3, Central 2 (A-R-C semi-final). The Spartans will host Coe for the tourney championship Saturday night at 7.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Layla Hays had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the freshman’s first double-double, Ava Heiden and Chazadi Wright also scored 14 points apiece and No. 21 Iowa rolled past Drake 100-58.
