The Darlington Redbirds will play for a Division 6 state football championship this afternoon at Camp Randall in Madison.
The Redbirds (13-0) meet two time defending Division 7 state champion (13-0) Edgar who moved up in class this season. Edgar has one 9 state championships.
Darlington is playing the title game for the 14 time in school history and for the second time in the last three seasons. The Redbirds own four state titles with the last one coming in 1995.
The Redbirds averaged 44 points per game in the four playoff games and have won by an average of 30.5 points. The offense will be tested by an Edgar defense that allowed a total of 28 points in their four playoff games. The Wildcats have shutout eight opponents this season.
