New figures out show since 2022 Dubuque County recently surpassed one billion dollars in construction investment.
Greater Dubuque Development says the milestone comes with a reported rise in building permits during the first half of the year. Data from the City of Dubuque shows 872 building permit were issued in the first 6 months of the year, up from 803 during the same period last year. The combined construction value was nearly 90 million dollars outpacing the same period by around 9 million dollars.
The permit activity covers residential, commercial, industrial, and public projects.
Greater Dubuque Development says they expect continued steady growth in 2026.
