The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has committed $3.9 million in loans and $4.17 million in grants to enhance public safety, clean water, and rural housing in Iowa. Seven public safety investments totaling $192,400 made through the Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant program included the City of Epworth which received a $15,000 grant to purchase 15 pieces of equipment for its volunteer fire department.
