Alliant Energy says an animal caused a powerline to go down triggering a power outage in portions of Dubuque yesterday morning.
The outage began around 8:15 and affected approximately 18-hundred customers.
Crews repaired the damage and power was restored in stages from approximately 9:30 through noon.
