A Dubuque County resident has been charged with identity theft after being accused of opening credit cards in the name of a Dubuque resident and racking up around 90-thousand dollars in charges.
Dubuque Police say 36-year old Benjamin Beaman of Holy Cross was arrested Sunday night. Police say Beaman was under investigation since June when a woman showed them proof of seven credit cards opened in her name. They say a phone number listed on several credit card applications was associated with Beaman.
