A Dubuque woman is in jail after being accused of severely injuring her husband during a fight early Friday morning at their home in the 500 block of Kaufmann Avenue.
47-year old Melinda Cook was arrested by Dubuque Police around 2 o’clock yesterday morning.
Her husband 36-year old Richard Cook told authorities his wife cut his arm with a ceramic bowl, hit his head with a lamp and bit his neck several times. He was taken to University Hospital in Iowa City for treatment of injuries which included a broken nose and a possible severed artery.
Melinda Cook told police all her actions were done in self-defense.
