Three Dubuque County fire departments battled the subzero temperatures while they fought a machine shed fire late last night and early this morning.
Around 11:45 the Epworth, Farley, and Centrailia Fire Departments were called to 7034 Then Road, about five miles south of Epworth on the report of a structure fire. The machine shed owned by Kenneth Hosch was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews were able to extinguish the fire.
Officials say the shed containing welding equipment was considered a total loss estimated around 100-thousand dollars. There were no injuries. The cause of what started the fire is under investigation. Investigators say it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
