A Dubuque home sustained heavy damage after firefighters had to go there twice.
The Dubuque Fire Department says they were first called to 12-65 Thomas Place around 9:45 yesterday morning where fire crews found fire and smoke coming from a room on the first floor where the blaze was contained.
Firemen were later called back around 1 o’clock where flames were seen coming from the attic and then spread through the second floor. Crews had the fire extinguished nearly two hours later and stayed there nearly two hours longer. One firefighter suffered a minor injury but was able to continue working. There were no other injuries.
Damage to the home and property is estimated at 228-thousand dollars. The cause is still under investigation.
