The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be aware of fraudulent emails and messages requesting the purchase of gift cards or other items.
Authorities says the scammers are creating fake email accounts or placing phone calls and pretending to be local officials, supervisors, or department leaders in an attempt to trick individuals into making purchases or sending money.
If you receive one of these emails or messages do not respond and don’t purchase anything.
