Man Charged With Firing Shot During Disturbance Pleads Not Guilty

DUBUQUE COURTHOUSE

A Dubuque man has entered a plea of not guilty to charges of firing a gun during a downtown disturbance in late September.

26-year old Laquan Edwards faces several charges following his arrest in January and is scheduled to go to trial on March 24th.

Edwards is accused of being involved in a large fight in the 14-hundred block of Central Avenue where a gunshot was fired.  Police say traffic camera footage shows as the fight was breaking up Edwards was the man who pulled a handgun and fired at another person with the bullet striking the pavement.
