The City of Dubuque Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan received unanimous approval at last night’s Dubuque City Council meeting.
The plan includes creating a comprehensive and compelling vision and direction for Parks and Recreation and focused on desires from the community identified by a survey of Dubuque residents.
Just a few of the major recommendations included revitalizing or creating a new aquatic facility, conducting a recreation center master plan for a new recreation facility, and creating a trail connection from city landmarks like the Mines of Spain.
Before the council voted Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanaugh said he supports the plan, but said he feels due what he called constricting levels of state and national government, funding may be hard to come by.
