Five Clayton County fire departments battled a house fire in Garber which spread to another nearby home before being extinguished.
Wednesday afternoon around 1, the Garber Fire Department was called to 904 ½ Front Street. The extremely windy conditions caused the flames to reach another home at 319 3rd Street.
Because of a threat to other nearby homes and businesses additional fire crews from Edgewood, Colesburg, Guttenberg, and Littleport were called in to assist.
Firefighters fought the blaze for around six hours. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
