Maquoketa Police say a 16-year-old is accused of making threats of violence against the Maquoketa Community School District on social media.
Police say they received information about the threat yesterday morning around 11:30 from the FBI National Threat Operations Center.
The school district had officers on the scene to ensure student and staff safety after learning of the threats.
Police say the teen whose name isn’t being released at this time has been charged with a threat of terrorism.
