Tonight the Wahlert High School girls basketball team begins their state championship quest at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines. The Golden Eagles who are the number four seed will match up with number five seed Williamsburg at 6:45 in the 3A quarterfinals.
Wahlert the defending state runners up are (18-5) while the Raiders are (20-5). The two met last season in the state semi-final round with Wahlert coming out on top 52-34.
The winner advances to the 3A semi-finals on Thursday afternoon against the Mount Vernon and Cherokee game.
