The UNI men’s basketball team shut down the Illinois State offense and the Redbirds’ three-point shooting on Friday night, cruising past Illinois State with a 74-52 win in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament

2-Seed Iowa (25-5, 15-3) defeated 10-Seed Illinois (21-11, 9-9) in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, 64-58. Ava Heiden led Iowa with 16 points, a career-high five blocks, four rebounds, and three assists. Iowa faces #3 seed Michigan in the semi-finals today.

The Dubuque Fighting Saints (33-15-3-0, 69 pts) skated to a 5-1 win over the Des Moines Buccaneers on Friday night. Dubuque is at home tonight as they welcome the Chicago Steel to ImOn Arena.
