Senior Ends Season with State Quarterfinal Loss to Dowling Catholic, Both Bellevue and Marquette Catholic Play Today

The Dubuque Senior Rams found scoring against Dowling Catholic’s twin towers of 6 ’10 Charlie Crane and 6′ 8 Alfred Kolee too tall a task last night in the Class 4A quarterfinals of the State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines falling 63-45 to the Maroons.  

Dowling had 9 blocked shots on the night with 6 of them by Crane who also scored 16 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Dowling also turned 11 Senior turnovers into 15 points and outscored the Rams 34-22 on points in the paint.

 Senior was led by Tevin Schultz with 15 and Drake Medinger with 11. Senior finished the season with a record of 21-and-3.

Today at the tournament both Bellevue High School teams will be in the Class 1A quarterfinals. At 3:45 the Bellevue Comets square off with Burlington Notre Dame. 

At 7:15 this evening the Marquette Catholic Defenders will meet Bishop Garrigan. You will be able to hear both games broadcast on AM 1370 and radiodubuque.com presented by Hy-Vee and Fidelity Bank and Trust.
