Cuba City Awarded Wisconsin DNR Ready For Reuse Grant

Cuba City

Cuba City has landed a grant award to support cleanup of contamination at a property formerly used as an assisted living facility.

The 131-thousand dollar grant through the DNR’s Ready for Reuse loan and grant program will be used to dispose of contaminated soil located at the property on South Washington Street.  The city acquired the property in 2024. The site once housed tanks containing petroleum products which contaminated the soil.

Cuba City hopes redevelop the property to create housing options near the downtown business district along with more commercial development.
