According to the Telegraph Herald Dubuque City leaders say they plan to develop their own ordinance to regulate data centers.
City Manager Mike Van Milligan said recently individuals looking at building a data center in Dubuque County reached out to the city about connecting to its water and sanitary sewer systems.
Van Milligan told the T-H they are actively working on constructing an ordinance so it will be clear how a data center project might move forward.
Earlier this week, Dubuque County Supervisors enacted a one year moratorium on data center development in the county.
