Darlington Police Chief Szvon Conway has been fired after his arrest on a drunk driving charge in June.
This week the city’s Special Police Committee terminated Conway’s employment immediately. Conway served as the city’s police chief since March 2024.
Conway was arrested after crashing his vehicle into a retaining wall in Monroe and then driving off.
Conway was arrested on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence and was cited with hit and run-failure.
