A Grant County farmer has died from injuries he suffered when the tractor he operating was hit from behind by a vehicle.
The Grant County Sheriff says the collision happened shortly after 11 Monday morning on County Road ‘E’ near Stitzer. Authorities say 63-year old Jeffrey Vesperman of Fennimore was thrown from the tractor after being hit by the vehicle driven by 89-year old Melvin Michek of rural Livingston.
Vesperman was airlifted to U-W Hospital in Madison where he died of his injuries. Michek was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
