2 Happy dudes above, from last year’s Dubuque On Ice Brewfest! Yes, that’s me, Johnny the radio guy, with Jonny the beer guy!
Jonny Gentry, head brewer from Potosi Brewery that is. As we get ready for the upcoming Dubuque On Ice Brewfest at the Grand River Center this Saturday, thought I would share a few stories and ideas for you as you get ready.
First off…you have plenty of time. The tasting is from 1p-4p. If you buy a VIP ticket, you get to start at Noon. 3 Hours of beer tasting is plenty of time, so don’t rush!
Brewfest will have wine, and spirits too, so the alcohol intake may be more than you planned for!
With that said, have a DD to get you home. At a beer tasting, you’ll find yourself trying a lot of high alcohol beers, and those will sneak up on you fast!
Try some beers that you may have never had, or even ones that you wouldn’t think you like. I’ve discovered some of my favorite beers at beer tastings!
Interviews, On-Air Segments, Concert Reviews and more!
Had Kyle Kaiser on the air Wednesday morning. Give the conversation a listen.
Kyle talks about a few new things this year, like a coat-check, and a new layout. Can’t wait to get down there to check it out!
A few other things you should know about this event….
Some places will be selling product, so support them if something looks good. I plan on leaving with 6 bottles of Bloody Mary Mix, 3 new t-shirts, and about 55 stickers for my camping cooler!
There will also be food samples. Careful if someone encourages you to try spicy peanuts. A little bit of my tongue is still numb from last year!
So let’s do this people! Beer tasting events like this never disappoint. You’ll meet some cool people, try new things, and support a great cause. Click the link to get your tickets, or preview the breweries that will be a part of the Dubuque On Ice Brewfest this year! Can’t wait!
