The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association held their annual awards banquet last weekend in Cedar Rapids.
Two area coaches who led their teams to state championships last season received recognition as Coach of the Year. Casey Bryant of Western Dubuque was named the Class 3A Coach of the Year while Ryan Mabe of Dyersville Beckman Catholic received the 2A award. Both also received recognition as Northeast District Coach of the Year.
Western Dubuque assistant Jesse Lawler was tabbed as the Northeast District Assistant of the Year.
Jim Leitner of the Telegraph Herald received the East District Media Award.
