A scale improvement project at the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill got underway yesterday.
The construction project is expected to take up to 12 weeks to finish which will likely cause extended wait times due to traffic being reduced to one lane for the duration of the project. Residents are encouraged to contact their local collection provider about large/bulky item collection services where available to reduce traffic volumes at the scale.
In addition, access to the Agency’s Regional Collection Center is impacted. The household hazardous materials and electronics recycling programs, which operate out of the center, are suspended for the duration of the project.
