Work is progressing to demolish the Dubuque Malting and Brewing building in the 3000 block of Jackson Street. Demo crews are in the process of taking the building down as you can see in a video below.
Streets in the area have been closed since mid-August last year.
Last week a crane began removing asbestos before the rest of the building could start coming down.
The plan from demolition crews is to clear out the middle section of the building, making room to bring down the two south towers.
Due to the work being done, West 30th Street from Jackson Street to Elm Street has a full road closure through May 10th. City officials say once the building is down to a safe level the road and intersection will re-open with lane closures.
