Jury Finds Man Guilty In Dubuque 2022 Murder Case

Just a day after jurors began deliberations in the murder trial of the man accused in a fatal Dubuque shooting, they brought back their verdict.

Yesterday 31-year old Keywani Evans was found guilty of first degree murder and first degree robbery in the June 2022 death of Taiwon Jackson Junior who was found shot to death in the 17-hundred block of Central Avenue.KEYWANI EVANS

Police video surveillance used as evidence in the trial showed Evans shooting Jackson Jr. from behind him in the back of the head, and then two more times while on the ground.

The murder charge carries a mandatory life in prison sentence. Evans will be officially sentenced at a later date.
