The Dubuque man charged with killing his mother earlier this year was back in Dubuque County District Court yesterday.
A hearing on the competency of 28-year old Tyler Dazey was held. The result of the latest competency evaluation of Dazey was shared which showed Dazey is competent to stand trial on the first-degree murder and animal abuse charges he faces. The initial evaluation back in February found Dazey incompetent to stand trial at that time.
The judge hearing the case says he will review both reports and determine in the next few days if Dazey is competent to stand trial.
Dazey was arrested on January 18th after investigators found the body of his mother Jennifer Dazey inside the home they shared on Avoca Street.
