Dubuque police have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted another man with a metal pole last month in the downtown area.
Police say yesterday officers on patrol observed the suspect 46-year old Mark Jones in the area of 2nd and Bluff Streets and took him into custody on a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.
Jones is accused of striking 57-year old Kriss Hill in the back of the head three times with the pole while Jones was riding by Hill on a bicycle in the 13-hundred block of Washington Street the night of June 4th. Traffic cameras in the area were used by authorities to help in the investigation and an arrest warrant for Jones was issued.
