The trial for a Dubuque woman facing charges in connection with the death of her infant son has been pushed back until later this year.
25-year old Valessa Matlock who has pled not guilty to four counts including child endangerment leading to death was scheduled to be tried next week, the trial is now scheduled to begin October 22nd in Dubuque County District Court.
In June of 2023, Matlock’s two month old son was found unresponsive at her home and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Matlock was arrested by Dubuque Police and charged in January following an investigation.
