USDA Grant Assists Local Fueling Stations

A 14 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture is being awarded to 19 projects across Iowa via the Higher Blends Infrastructure Investments Program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Around $3-million dollars was awarded locally with Rainbo Oil Company, McDermott Oil Co and J&D Mart using the grant money to install storage tanks and dispensers for fuel with higher blends of ethanol at gas stations.

The largest grant recipient in Iowa was Casey’s General Store Inc., which received about $3.5 million to upgrade equipment at nearly 200 gas stations, including locations in the Dubuque area.

USDA officials also announced a nearly $10 million grant awarded to Kwik Trip for biofuel dispensers and storage tanks in locations across Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota.
