The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of those involved an accident on Thursday afternoon in Jackson County where the driver of a pick-up struck a man in electric wheelchair.
Authorities say both the man in the wheelchair, 51-year old Jamie Cockrell of Bernard and the driver of the pick-up 69-year old Benny Bennett of Bernard were injured. Cockrell was taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque while Bennett was transported to the Jackson County Hospital.
The Patrol say Bennett lost control while rounding a curve on Leisure Lake Road near Bernard and hit Cockrell.
