An arraignment date for a Sherrill man charged with attempted murder for a stabbing in downtown Dubuque has been set.
22-year old Gabriel Dominguez has been charged in the stabbing of 21-year old Hunter Guyon of Dubuque near the intersections of 9th and Main Streets during the early morning hours of October 26th. An arraignment date for Dominguez is set for December 16th in Dubuque County District Court.
With the aid of traffic camera footage, Dubuque Police charged Dominguez after he was taken into custody in Jo Daviess County following the incident.
Police say Dominguez got out of a vehicle and stabbed Guyon who was walking with a group of other people along Main Street. Guyon sustained serious stab wounds to his abdomen area in the attack.
Meanwhile, the other man who was arrested in the case, 22 year old Scott Wessels of Dubuque who was originally charged with Accessory After the Fact has now also been charged with attempted murder, going armed with intent, willful injury and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with the stabbing.
Wessels was driving the vehicle in which Dominquez was riding in and according to Iowa Law can be charged even if he was not the person who carried out the crime. He will also face arraignment on the charges December 16th.
