A Dubuque County man was arrested by Dubuque Police after leading them on a high speed chase.
48-year old Jason Weiland of Sherrill was charged with eluding and possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
Police say shortly before 6 on Wednesday morning, an officer attempted to pull over a pick-up truck being driven by Weiland on Highway 61 near the Dubuque Regional Airport. Authorities say the chase exceeded 100 miles per hour before a tire deflation device was deployed and the vehicle went into the ditch near the area of Military Road and Highway 52. Police say Weiland then tried to get out of the vehicle and run from them, but he was arrested and taken to jail.
